Saturday Favorites 034: Philippine Fashion Week S/S 2013 - Luxe Wear

Two days ago, my cousin and I attended the Luxewear show, one of the fashion shows for Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 at SMX Convention Center. We brought my friend, Jaja and another cousin with us. We also got invited for the Cary Santiago show but unfortunately, we missed it since my cousin still have class at the time of the show. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed it. After all, it's fashion and art, how can we not? :) 

Here are the trends we observed:

Sheer will still be in. Soft and billowy textures. Lace will make a big comeback. Neon brights and white. Lasercut details. Bigger and bolder accessories. To die for detailing. BRING SEXY BACK! It's all at the back, honey. I looooove it. :D

I had no decent photos of Martin Bautista's and Julius Tarog's collection to share. My cousin suddenly passed out at that time and we had to take care of her for a while. She was able to feel better just in time to watch the rest of the show.

1. My Tumblr account!

Yeah, I eventually gave in to Tumblr. I initially didn't want to but the files I had accumulated through my reflex of right-clicking and saving photos I find on the internet has got to go somewhere more permanent. And to eventually unclog my hard drive. :) I had so much fun reblogging and posting photos though that I didn't realize I stayed up until 1 or 2 AM on the first two nights I have tried it. Haha! Now, I have to limit myself! Hahaha!

2. It's more fun in the Philippines

These are just some of the photos I found. It became so controversial though because they say it is an imitation of what Switzerland had 40-50 years ago. True enough, there were evidences found but who knows, maybe our Tourism department just thought of the exact same thing? The tag line itself is pretty much easy to come up with. Anyway, there are a lot of variations came thereafter. A lot of cute and funny variations.

3. Cobalt Blue, Coral and Sheer

MY CURRENT OBSESSION!!! I actually bought two more (see below) sheer fabrics in gray and coral and one more spandex fabric in cobalt blue (In additional to the two sheer fabrics in black and brown animal print and two spandex fabric in mustard and black that I bought early December, I think. You've seen the finished product of the mustard and black sheer fabrics here.). 

Yes, I have a new mantra in purchasing clothes now: Buy fabric and have clothes tailor-made and lessen purchase in malls or stores. With that, I get to design personally my regular, everyday clothing! Yayyyyy! :)

4. Fashion Editorials

Concept. Clothing items and accessories used. How strong the photography speaks. Art. Creativity. Vision. These are what I liked in these editorials.

5. Random buy: new phone

Mine's black. :) Qwerty keypad. 5MP camera. Good sound quality. Touch screen (Never a fan of touch screen for texting so thanks to the QWERTY keypad but I'm practicing the touch screen texting though. The touch screen texting is easier with this phone because the letters are in a regular phone format, unlike other phones that are in QWERTY which is harder to touch the letters. But you know, that's just me. To each their own. Whatever works for you.). Auto-rotate. Document reader. I haven't tinkered with it much yet so click here to know more. :)
