Singapore Lookbook

Sharing my OOTDs from my trip because why not? Haha!

THE TOUCHDOWN

Specs - Bailey Nelson | Drop earrings - Lovisa | Scarf - Zara | Linen buttondown - Uniqlo | High-waist denim - JayJays | Leopard print sneakers - Novo | Backpack - Sportsgirl

When I travel, I always go for the easiest and comfortable pieces in my wardrobe. Generally, how I choose what clothes to wear depends on my mood. So if I want to look a bit more polished at the airport and on my flight, I dress up a bit. And at that time, I was in the mood to trade my leggings and hoodie for a buttondown and jeans.

THE THEME PARK

Specs - can't remember where I got it, sorry | Backpack - Sportsgirl | Crop top - Sportsgirl | Denim cutoffs - JayJays | Sneakers - Cole Haan

For an active day just like a day at Universal Studios, a very comfortable outfit is a no-brainer. Hence, I opted to wear denim cut-offs and sneakers. I paired it with a printed crop top for the pop of colour.

GIRL, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY

Singapore_2017_Day2
Hat - H&M | Top - Zara | Skirt - Sportsgirl | Flats - Topshop
Since it was my birthday, I wanted to dress up but still be comfortable since I will be going around that day. I decided to wear white so I will stand out in the Yayoi Kusama exhibit. I paired a boxy, chiffon top and with a crocheted skirt with fringe and faux snakeskin lace-up flats for added texture on the all-white ensemble. I topped off the whole look with a fedora hat.

THE MUSEUM

Specs - Quay Australia | Tassel earrings - Lovisa | Top - Zara | High-waist shorts - Zara | Crossbody bag - Charles & Keith | Flats - Zara
Heat and humidity are two of the things I am not fond of. So I chose to wear another comfortable but chic outfit because we were going to visit some museums. I also wore this very posh crossbody bag given by my friend for my birthday.

THE DEPARTURE

Singapore_2017_Day3
Shirt - H&M | Backpack - Sportsgirl | High-waist denim - JayJays | Leopard print sneakers - Novo
First, I am aware this is not an ootd shot but this is the only photo I had for my departure look. Anyway, I chose to wear the same jeans and shoes that I wore upon arrival and I paired it with a plain black shirt (and a pullover, which is not seen in this photo. I usually bring a pullover and keep it in my handcarry because it gets a bit chilly inside the plane). I was so tired already and I couldn't be bothered to dress up a bit for the flight. See what I meant with choosing what to wear based on my mood? This is different from my earlier airport look, obvs.

09 September 2017

It was my last day in Singapore.

Breakfast prepared for me by Chai! :)
With 12 hours or so to spare before I fly back home, Chai and I spent the whole day together. Kla had to go back to work again so I got to spend some quality time with Chai.

I packed most of my stuff in my suitcase before we left. We left the house around lunchtime and headed to ArtScience Museum.

I've been dying to see the Future World: Where Art Meets Science exhibition, specifically, the Space narrative, because of all the lights and, you know, the Instagram shots I have in mind. Yes, #DoItForTheGram, y'all. Haha!

We had so much fun that we almost lost track of time! We played around. We did heaps of videos and boomerangs. We took a lot of inarte photos. Going to museums are really fun, you guys.

I loved this exhibition because it was interactive and innovative. One can spend so much time going around there and will never get bored. It's an exhibit that people from all ages can enjoy.

SERPENTIform: Art Jewelry Design by Bvlgari is the second exhibit that Chai and I went to.

The exhibit showcased various representations of a serpent and how it became a source of inspiration for fashion, art, design, jewellery and photography.

The exhibit displayed an array of both vintage and contemporary masterpieces such as paintings, craftwork, sculptures, photographs, evening dresses, film and theatre costumes and, of course, Bvlgari jewellery. I enjoyed looking at everything!

Needless to say, this is my thing right here. I exited the museum with overflowing inspiration.

Then, we headed to Marina Bay Sands Mall to have a quick bite because we haven't had lunch yet!

DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe was a cute themed restaurant. I loved looking at the displays. Even the menu is very thematic.

We had Wonder Woman Lasso Fries and The Joker's Loco Nacho for lunch-slash-afternoon snack. I ordered a Harley Quinn Lil's Monster Mint milkshake while Chai ordered a Batman's Rocher Rumble milkshake to pair up with our food. I enjoyed the fries (because fries is my comfort food so that's a no brainer) and the mint drink (because mint is life for me) that I ordered.

After feeding our tummy, we strolled at Marina Bay Sands Waterfront Promenade and enjoyed the city skyline view.

Since we were pressed for time, we skipped the Louis Vuitton museum and went straight to Gardens by the Bay.

Singapore_2017_Day3

By this time, both our phones were running really low on battery. Luckily, we arrived there just in time for the light and music show. However, Chai's phone was down and mine was on 5% battery already. I can't use it to take photos or videos. My camera was also hanging by a thread! I wasn't able to take a video of the whole show but it was good. I found it relaxing, just looking at the lights and listening to the music. We noticed that a lot of people were lying down on the ground while watching.

After the show, we walked straight up to Cloud Forest. First thing that I noticed: the place was a bit cool, which I loved! It was dark already so I didn't get to appreciate the plants that much. I would probably appreciate it more if we went there at broad daylight. As I've said, I am afraid of heights so the walk on the bridge was sort of a challenge. It was a good thing that it was dark and I really couldn't see from the bridge how high we were. I mean, I know we were high above but I couldn't see much down there. Well, I wasn't really looking anyway. I just kept looking forward and sideways and made sure I walked in the middle where the walkway was covered.  I stood quite a few times on the edge of the bridge to get photos taken but it was very quick, hence, some of our shots were blurred or out of focus. Haha!

We went down, ran to the taxi bay, rode a cab and headed straight home. I did my final packing and charged all my gadgets. I ate my birthday noodles and one more slice of my cake before we left for the airport.

Singapore_2017_Day3

I arrived at the airport around midnight. I had enough time to check in and browse quickly in Charles and Keith. Actually, if I stayed 5-10 more minutes at that shop and insisted on buying something, I would probably be late for my boarding time. I wasn't even paying attention when I was walking to where my boarding gate is because I took a wrong turn. It was also quite a walk. Luckily, there wasn't a long queue for the bag inspection and I only sat for like, 15 minutes, before I boarded.

Singapore_2017_Day3

Aaandddd that was it! That concludes my Singapore trip! :)

Singapore_2017_Day3

Big thanks and much love to my friends who went out of their way to spend time with me and toured me around. Thanks, Chai, for opening your apartment for me and letting me stay with you for a few days! It was a wonderful birthday celebration, indeed! :)
