How I put up our Christmas Tree

Two weeks ago, I thought of buying a new and bigger Christmas tree for our family. It has been years since we actually had a tall and traditional Christmas tree. Our old tree was eventually changed into a smaller tree then became an 'invisible' tree (I knoooow. It's sad! As years go by, we had more things that a tree just wouldn't fit in the living room anymore! OMG. Hahaha! We just compensated by putting more lights and decorations outside of our house.). We recently had a new but different-looking tree and I just have to change that. Haha! I know it's still Halloween and All Saints' and All Souls' Day are just right around the corner but my Mom and I are just so excited to put our new tree up. Plus, it's a long weekend, it's the only and better time we got. Anyway, let's start.

For this year, our motif is actually turquoise and silver. Mom bought additional balls in royal blue hence, our motif became turquoise, blue and silver. We have different styles of balls -- matte, glittered, designed, shiny.

I connected the lowest part of the trunk of the tree to the base with the use of screws.

The trunk of the tree is labeled with letters so I connected the rest of the trunk alphabetically until I reached the top part.

I placed the head/top part of the tree. The top part of the trunk already has leaves attached to it.

I went downwards. As I had mentioned earlier, the whole trunk of the tree is divided and labeled with letters. The branches are also labeled with letters so I matched the branches and inserted them to its corresponding letter.

I removed each plastic that was covered on every set of leaves.

My mom helped me spread the leaves in order to form the entire bulk of the tree.

Here comes now my favorite part -- decorating! My mom and I shared the task. I put up the balls and the angels (which you didn't see on the first picture above because she saw them on our box of Christmas decorations and just randomly thought of adding them) while she put up the flowers. We put together the lights.

And ta-daaahhh! Our 'malnourished', underdecorated tree! Hahaha!

We were used to decorating smaller trees and we bought those balls and flowers before I thought of buying a new and bigger tree. I'll just post a new picture once we bought more decors to hang on our tree -- and gifts to place under the tree! Speaking of gifts, I think I should suggest to my Mom that we should bring back Santa Claus in our home! Well, not literally the fat, cute person but you know, the surprise in every gift. Ever since we knew who our own 'Santa Claus' was and grew out of that phase, Mom let us choose our own gifts. She used to wrap them even though we knew what it was until she stopped wrapping them at all! Last year, she brought back the gift-wrapping of our gifts. This year, I think the surprise should also be back again. :)

So, how about you? Have you put up your own Christmas trees at home already? Are you excited for Christmas as I am?
Advance Merry Christmas everybody! :D (Okay, I'm way too excited. Haha!)

And oh! Our dog just turned 14 years old (in real time)/38 years old (in dog's time) yesterday!!! :) May you have many more years to come, Charcoal! :)

Edit: According to the dog age calculator I found online, he's 85 years old already.
