My review classes are over. Since I started in June, this is the second week at work that my head was really focused on understanding and learning how things are done and what needs to be accomplished in the workplace. I'm keeping up, I believe.

Yesterday, I had dinner with two of my college friends. We had gazillions of stories to tell that night! I missed those two! (I'll post photos once I get hold of them.)

Today, I spent the day with Joanne. We went to Forever 21 opening at SM Mall of Asia. We had a plan of going there early but as expected, the early bird plan failed. Hahaha!

Then we went to CCP to watch Requieme with Teps.

We wanted to watch Bwakaw but unfortunately, tickets were sold out! :l The film that we watched was Teps' choice. I must say, though, it was a good film! The plot's actually simple but it's funny. What I loved about is its open-ended finale. It left our mind forming with our own interpretation of how the story ended and what the story's message really is.

It's our first time to catch Cinemalaya. What I like about independent films is that their stories are varied and new and that there seemed to be no holds barred. The film is made based on how the story is actually told, not on the rules that bound them on what and what not to show. Compared to mainstream films, the plot of the film is not compromised. Independent films have more freedom to express a message in whatever manner. They are intelligently made with intelligent stories that back it up. The plot may be simple but it seems nearer to real life. It seems more real for the audience. It does not entail too much computer graphics or effects to catch your attention. People should start watching and appreciating films like these. If you want a fresh and new story to watch, independent films are and can be your best bet.

Sense of fulfillment. I missed it.

I didn't realize until yesterday that it was what was missing in my life. This is probably the reason why I hated my former job. It wasn't just because of the annoying people around me at that time or the unfairness and 'taking advantage' that wasn't supposed to happen in the workplace. Without having something worthy to compensate for those irregularities at work, or in life in general, is just too hard to handle and too unimaginable to comprehend. I didn't see the purpose of what I was doing anymore. I could have done better things. I actually asked for an opportunity to contribute something more than what my job description entailed. They could have given me that but they didn't. They chose to make me do things that was just way below of my job. I was stuck and I felt bad for myself. I actually pitied myself for it. Was that all I ever am to them? And they still had to screw me over just like that? Everything was too much. It was very insulting and unprofessional. In as much that it came as a surprise, I was actually glad they bitched me out. One more day and I swear, I could have gone insane there.

Oh well, I'm in a better place. I've never felt better, work-speaking, until yesterday. It reminded me of the whole sense of my nursing career. But still, it doesn't mean I am very sure of my career path. I still am confused and unsure. But for the meantime, I'll make the most out of where I am and pray that I will eventually figure things out at the right time. :)

July Listography

And here we go again for another round of what-to-do for this month.

July Listography-page-001 (1)

In all fairness to me and my former list, the results are way better compared to all my other lists. I had most of them done!

Just so you know, in reference to the 9th and 13th item on the list above, there were some, especially the ones from my former workplace, noticed how vibrant and happy I look nowadays. Whaddup! :)

As for the other evidences, you can look into my recent entries. :)

Lipsticks are my go-to 'instant-face-booster'. I have always been a fan since I turned 18 (make-ups are a big no-no in high school. At least here in our school, in our country. So I resorted to lip glosses and balms back then.), when we were encouraged to wear light make-up during hospital duty (for our instructors to note the difference between the patient and the student nurse. HAHA!). Lucky for me, all my lipsticks were given to me as a gift or as a random purchase by my mom or aunts that I need not to shop for them on rampage.

Bottomline: For the record, this is the first lipstick I purchased with my own money. Haha!
